Com-Ital SpA was established in Montemurlo (Prato) for the distribution of LDPE Film on the domestic market.
Com-Ital S.p.A. was established in 1971 as a plastics distribution company, thanks to the insight of two brothers, Roberto and Pio Nutini, who understood the importance of the rapidly growing demand for polymers in a variety of industrial sectors.
Since then the insight started to become organisation. The first commercial approaches with BASF in 1977, thanks to the visionary and passionate entrepreneurial spirit of Pio Nutini, represent a fundamental step towards what the company organization is today.
Today Com-Ital distributes a wide range of commodities and engineering polymers on the Italian market, with increasing attention to green products in the circular economy.
The cornerstones of Com-Ital’s operating philosophy are historically represented by absolute customer orientation, high quality products and Supply chain continuity care.

Com-Ital SpA was established in Montemurlo (Prato) for the distribution of LDPE Film on the domestic market.
The company began doing business with the German multinational BASF, leading Com-Ital’s growth through the initial supply of PP Novolen (now manufactured by LYONDELLBASELL).
The offices and warehouse of the first logistic pole in Lombardy were opened in San Giuliano Milanese (MI).
The partnership with BASF was extended to the distribution of Polyethylene (transformed into Elenac in 1998 and then BASELL in 2000)
Polypropylene: the distribution agreement with Himont, which became Montell in 1995 and BASELL in 2000 was launched.
The commercial relationship with EniChem, now Versalis, for the distribution of styrenics was launched.

The logistics hub in Veneto was opened to serve the emerging North-Eastern market. It moved to Martellago (VE) in 1995
Polyethylene: distribution agreements were signed with Hoechst and Shell, later merged into BASELL
The Leinì (TO) warehouse dedicated to distribution in the North-Western market was opened.
The new site in Arzano (NA) dedicated to the Southern Italian market was inaugurated.
Com-Ital achieves ISO 9001 certification for its Quality Management System
Opening of the warehouse in Porto S. Elpidio (AP), later moved to Civitanova Marche (MC) in 2002
Com-Ital’s historical partners for polyolefins merged into BASELL through joint-ventures
The logistics capacity was increased in the Lombardy region with the move to the new site in Carpiano (South Milan).
